I first met James and Mandy last year. I felt like there was a great connection from the start and that their wedding plans really did sound truly amazing! They chose a cute little venue for the ceremony and a great spot for the reception which was the new shopping area at Emerald Lakes on the Gold Coast. I hadn't been there prior, so I decided to check out the area and to conduct a model shoot there just to get accustomed. I generally try to do this as it gives me a good feel for new areas and the creative space. I assembled the team which included Tim (who flew up from Melbourne). Tim has a uniquely intimate, candid style which a lot of clients greatly appreciate. Also, Dwayne was on board. He a seasoned wedding photographer who uses a lot of flash and always guarantees stand-out images. Both photographer's styles are very different which is why I love having them work together - for that contrast. As for the video, I had Matt with me as usual (I do manage to get him onboard whenever he isn't otherwise travelling the world). I absolutely love working with him - his style is very creative and brings a fresh attitude to wedding videos. What follows is the final result if the video. We would all love to head from you in the comments section.
As for the photography, I have some images from Dwayne and a B&W slideshow from Tim. Sufficed to say, there was an abundance of tears shed on the day. Firstly, by James' Mum and Dad. James read a letter written by Mandy in their honour. Another emotional moment was when Mandy read yet another personal letter to James. During the ceremony, Mandy's emotional vows not only brought tears to her eyes - but also to Tim's. I later admitted (a bit bashfully) to following her lead! She really is very passionate and they are such a great match for each other. James is clearly her "rock". As usual, we had a lot of fun spending the day with James, Mandy and their friends and family. Wedding photography really is the best job in the world.
We brought a new element to this wedding - we provided a Photo Booth which proved a great success. To find out more look out for the blog on this topic. And, as it transpires, we are so happy and excited to be seeing this couple and their family again soon. We will be providing the photography and video for James' brothers wedding (Lewis) with his partner (Natasha). Thank you for reading I look forward to sharing again soon.
