![]() I recently had the pleasure of doing the photography and videography for Samin sheet metal (www.samin.com.au) They have a few new machines and some new concepts that required my services. I also dealt with Ian Godbold who is Samin's marketing manager (www.godbold.com.au). After having a chat to Wade Samin the general manager and Ian at the start of the day we came up with a plan of attack and got started. I generally either do video or photogrpahy so doing both at the same time did present a few challenges one of which was the darkness. In the warehouse the light was limted to say the least which was fine as I had my 100mm, f2. I was also using my yungnuo continuous video light. ![]() When shooting video its ideal to shoot at 1/50sec shutter speed. So using live view mode, I attempted to take some shots while doing video at the same time. This worked in most situations I only came across problems with the slow shutter speed, where the object was moving. I had a tripod which controlled this also somewhat. The other was the type of lighting as I would generally use either a speedlite or my portable studio light. The top shot is of one of the Samin employees I like this shot as it has a friendly inviting feel to it. The last shot is one of the other employees welding in this case the shutter speed works with the sparks flying through the air. I will upload the video when finished.
